Guinness World Record™ awarded to Birmingham Keynote Speaker Patrick O’Mara with support from the University of Alabama (UAB) J. Frank Barefield Jr. Entrepreneurship Program and Digital Motion Event Services

BIRMINGHAM, AL — FEBRUARY 12, 2024 — Pro-Presenting, LLC's Patrick O'Mara has officially been awarded the Guinness World RecordTM for the Most Speeches in 24 Hours, achieving this remarkable feat with the support of a student team from UAB J. Frank Barefield Jr. Entrepreneurship Program and Digital Motion Event Services.
On June 8, 2023, Patrick O'Mara embarked on an ambitious journey to break the Guinness World Record for the Most Speeches in 24 Hours. The record-breaking attempt involved 33 different organizations across Birmingham, Hoover, Woodlawn, Bessemer, and Homewood, AL. Guinness World Records officially approved 32 of O'Mara's speeches on January 11, 2024, surpassing the previous record by 2. Each speech, lasting over 10 minutes, was spontaneous, unscripted, and uniquely crafted with prompts from fortune cookies, ensuring a diverse range of topics at each location.
Pat O'Mara expressed his gratitude, saying, "The collaboration with UAB J. Frank Barefield Jr. Entrepreneurship Program was instrumental in achieving this world record. Their commitment to education and empowerment aligns seamlessly with my mission to inspire positive change through my speeches."
Dr. Patrick Murphy of UAB J. Frank Barefield Jr. Entrepreneurship Program played a pivotal role In O'Mara's success, providing guidance, assigning the project to Barefield Entrepreneurship students, and securing an intern to coordinate and process all Guinness evidence requirements. O'Mara praised Dr. Murphy's care, support, and knowledge, stating, “I still remember pitching this idea in late 2022 and am so grateful to have received such generous support from Dr. Murphy, and the entrepreneurship students! He helped create an experience I'll cherish for a lifetime!”
Digital Motion Event Services, led by CEO Brooke Fleming, played a critical role in the logistics and technical aspects of the record attempt. The company created a marketing campaign, coordinated audience enrollment, managed uninterrupted recordings and live streaming of the entire day from start to finish, and prepared the evidence package complete with 17 hours of final recordings which were edited and cataloged and submitted to Guinness. O'Mara commended Digital Motion, saying, "Digital Motion Event Services is a world-class event and audio-visual company who partnered with me throughout my pre-event, attempt day, and post-event to perform the detailed work of preparing and submitting our evidence package to Guinness. In addition to the key partners, O'Mara acknowledged the support of 33 organizations and numerous individuals who contributed to the success of this historic event. The achievement has been awarded official verification and is currently featured in an article on the Guinness World Record website. O'Mara emphasizes that this victory is a collective effort and expresses gratitude to everyone involved in the endeavor.
